DeepDiveNY ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

Anonymous Identifier
When you first open the app, a random anonymous ID is generated and stored on your device. This ID is never linked to your name, email, or any personally identifiable information. It is used solely to power community features like comments and vibe checks (so you can edit or delete your own contributions).

Location Data
If you grant location permission, your approximate location is used to show nearby bars and sort results. Your location is processed on-device and is not stored on our servers.

User-Generated Content
Comments and vibe check submissions you post are stored on our servers and associated with your anonymous ID. Do not include personal information in comments.

Usage Analytics
We collect anonymous analytics events (e.g., which bars are viewed, which filters are used) to improve the app. These events contain no personally identifiable information.

Feedback Submissions
If you submit feedback through the app, the content of your message is stored on our servers. You may optionally include your email address if you'd like a response — this is never shared or used for marketing.

Advertising
DeepDiveNY displays non-personalized banner ads served by Google AdMob. We do not use your data for ad targeting, and ads are not tailored to your behavior or interests.

Third-Party Services
DeepDiveNY uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Supabase — database and file storage
- Mapbox — map rendering and geocoding
- Google Places — bar information and photos
- Google AdMob — non-personalized banner advertising

Data Retention
Comments and vibe checks may be retained indefinitely to support the community features of the app. You may request deletion of content associated with your anonymous ID by contacting us at deepdiveny@gmail.com.

Children's Privacy
DeepDiveNY is intended for users 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
